Lookout
This one is the view from the trig station on top of Panekire Bluff, providing a view of the main body of water, the "Narrows" (the narrow piece of water to the top) and the "Hopuruahine" arm (to the top right).
Looking
back off Bald Knob, Panekire Range Bald Knob is one of the highest points on the Panekire Range, providing views over the main body of Waikaremoana, the Wairaumoana arm, the surrounding ranges, and down to the coast over the sloping back of the range. This view features the dead stunted trees on the edge of the bush on Bald Knob where the wind is tunnelled through a dip in the range, with farmland in the distance towards the coast.

Mokau Landing, looking towards Panekire BluffMokau Landing has basic camping facilities, with a camping area that looks directly to the face of Panekire Bluff on the far side of the lake. Good fishing can be had with one of the more major rivers flowing into the lake, and the bay providing sheltered trolling for trout.

Papakorito
falls, Animaniwa river. These falls are a short drive from the Park Visitor Centre and an easy walk down a short path. One of many water falls in the Waikaremoana area, and several on the lower stretch of the Aniwaniwa river.
